Farm Trip, school and some more PICS

I need to get better at writing these blogs. Maybe by July I will. I will try to update as well as possible.

Two weekends ago on Friday night I got to go to my first show! It was at a church and they have a show every other week to raise money for something in Africa. So I went and help make coffee and serve pastries. The band that played was called "A Table for Two". They are a couple. It was chill music.

Two weekends ago I went to a farm about twenty minutes from the University. It was a farm trip put on by the Rotary club. It was very exciting. And that is what lots of my pictures are from. At the farm trip the ladies made HEAPS of food from meat pies (a NZ favorite, fish sandwiches, sausages with bread (another NZ usual) apples and tons of breads. It was so yummy. Then we went to the top of the hills that you see in the back, by car. And then we got the luxury of walking down. It was so fun to walk through the hills and see the landscape. The poop is cow poop, I know you all apreciate that. We got to see how farmers herd the sheep, shave the sheep, count the sheep, seperate the sheep, etc. I even got to ride a sheep! Actually it is just straddling a sheep. but eh it is still cool to say. The sheep actually do not like humans. They are petrified of us. So it was hard to pet them. After we got our sheep fill we went to the farm house again and got dessert! And it was even more YUM! We had delicous cookies (biscuits), breads, shortbreads, and fruit. Oh it was farm thanksgiving. When we first got there and for the ride home one of the retired farmers took me and these two German girls to the farm. He told me that he use to have 6000 sheep and 200 cattle!

Then on Sunday morning Ash, Tara and I had a random dance party. (It was actually like noon). We started playing Michael Jackson (who is a big deal here) and Destiny's Child. We danced for about two hours! It was so much fun. Then later that day we had a BBQ. Someone made a raw fish dish and it was AMAZING. We had some pita bread homemade and lots of meat. Steak, chicken, ribs and fish. One thing about the New Zealanders is they really really like their meat.

That Wednesday I went to the Hamilton Gardens for a Easter display of the story. There were verses in the bible that were portrayed through various art forms from clay, live people, music, video, paint, drawing, statues, and anything else you might think of. It was really neat to see it in a new perspective and really look at the verses. On the way there we picked up this kid that reminds me of Josh and Chuckie. At the gardens he decided to rearrange all the candles that lit the pathway so everyone would get lost. And other various things just to be funny. And I felt very at home (being with people that are only half as funny as you Chuckie and Josh).

Stay tuned for the North Island and really attractive Pictures of me, I mean of the island.
